Privacy Policy

LAST UPDATED · JULY 2026

1. Overview

Technest (“Technest,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) provides AI-powered video surveillance and spatial intelligence services through its Video AI Agent platform (the “Services”). Technest provides these Services as an authorized partner through Spot AI providing its services. We recognize that our Services involve the processing of camera footage and personal data, and we are committed to protecting the privacy and security of that information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and process it, the choices you have, and the safeguards we apply. It applies to customers who deploy our Services and to individuals whose image or data may be captured by deployed systems.

2. Information We Collect

Account & Business Information: When you request an assessment or become a customer, we collect your name, email address, phone number, company name, industry, and the state and city of your facilities.

Video & Image Data: Our edge-first hardware processes camera feeds on-site. Video footage, metadata, and AI-generated detection events (such as loitering, missing PPE, or license plates of interest) are processed locally by default. Only the data you choose to share with us - for example, exported clips, event logs, or support materials - is transmitted to our servers.

Usage & Diagnostic Data: We collect system telemetry, performance metrics, and log data necessary to operate, secure, and improve the platform.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Services at your facilities.
  • Detect, classify, and respond to events captured by your cameras.
  • Generate operational dashboards, heat maps, and incident reports.
  • Communicate with you about your deployment, support requests, and renewals.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents on our platform.
  • Improve the accuracy and performance of our detection models.

4. Video Data & On-Site Processing

By default, video is processed and stored on edge hardware installed at your location. Technest does not access live camera feeds or stored footage unless you explicitly enable remote access, share a clip, or request support. You control retention periods for on-site storage, and you are responsible for complying with applicable state and local recording and signage requirements at your facilities.

5. Data Retention

On-site video and event data are retained according to the retention schedule you configure on the edge device. Account and billing data are retained for the duration of your customer relationship and afterward as needed to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account data at any time, subject to legal retention requirements.

6. Sharing & Disclosure

We do not sell personal information or video footage. We may share data only:

  • With service providers and processors who support our platform under written contractual obligations.
  • When required by law, court order, or valid request from law enforcement for investigations involving your premises.
  • To protect the rights, property, or safety of Technest, our customers, or the public.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to confidentiality obligations.

7. Data Security

We apply industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, role-based access controls, audit logging, and segmentation. Edge processing reduces the exposure of raw video by keeping it on-site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), other U.S. state privacy laws, or the GDPR. These rights may include accessing, correcting, deleting, or restricting the processing of your personal information, and opting out of certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the information below.

9. Cookies & Analytics

Our website and dashboards use cookies and similar technologies to remember preferences, measure traffic, and improve functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may limit access to features of our dashboards.

10. Children’s Privacy

Our Services are intended for commercial and industrial use and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the platform.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date and, for material changes, provide notice through the platform or by email.
